So that annoying woman from the beach yesterday was out again today looking for prey to bore to death.  My god the woman's insatiable, she never fucking stops going on with herself.  Yeah I hear ya.....but at least I'm interesting....

Our little section of the beach is always quiet, when Cricket, Morpheus and myself went off for a walk yesterday afternoon towards Ocean Beach it got busier and busier as we walked.  Just before we got off the beach people were lying head to toe....yuck, that would drive me nuts!!

We're all back at the house now have late lunch, even Kiwi Boy must of smelt the grill going as he's just shown up from being out all morning, firstly at Mass (never knew he was a bible bashing sort of bloke), then he was off to watch the Mets at the town bar.  Anyway he's back now, along with everyone else, Buddy has just put together a great lunch for us all and he's presently sitting in the back smoking a huge cigar and drinking his afternoon cocktail.  He cooks for us but rarely eats himself...whatever!!

I'm going to shoot off back down to the beach in a bit before anyone comes up with a suggestion of going for a 5 mile hike up the beach, or playing another board game...  Tonight we're going to have an early barbecue and then go out on the piss afterwards, sounds great to me!!

So Cricket came up with the idea of us all making hats to wear during this evenings meal.  The condition though is that you DON'T buy anything to make them with, you have to use the natural surroundings to find varying textiles to make the hat.  So this afternoon I've been sat on the beach with Cricket while she sits with a whole bunch of bamboo, firs, conifers, bits of long grass etc. that she collected when she was bike riding this morning, and she's mad the most amazing hat EVER.  Actually it's more like a wreath, but it's so pretty, with shells on the front piece tied with some dental floss (no she didn't buy it, it was mine) and then surrounding it are the conifers entwined with the firs and grass, it's great.  She was also ever so sweet and made a smaller less fancy version for me, which is absolutely perfect...I love it!!  She knows I'm not very crafty you see.  By the way in England if you call someone "crafty" it means that there a bit shifty, not to be trusted and so forth, just thought you yanks out there might like to know....

Anyway we brought the hats back to the house, where they were received with great enthusiasm from everyone else, only to find out that sneaky Buddy Weiser and Kiwi Boy had also made hats for the others.  This was great, because I think Cricket was a bit disappointed at first when she didn't think that anyone else was going to bother, which is exactly what WOULD of happened if the boys hadn't gone all creative and crafty on us.  So we all sat out on the deck, with our champagne, (courtesy of Kiwi Boy) and our hats: Josie had a fabulous very minimal look of long branches, knotted together and perched on some disk thing and then pinned into her hair, it was very Philip Treacey (very trendy Milliner in London).  Kirk had a big silver thing going on wrapped over a box which was strategically perched on his big head, with an Uncle Sam "I Want You" poster on his forehead.  Morpheus' had a big "My Fair Lady" job going on, which had a fabulous wide brim that was covered in a white garbage bag and for some unknown reason a diet pepsi can hanging from the front.  Kiwi Boy had a simple card board box on his humungous cranium which had been cut to look like a crown.  Last but certainly not least the creative cat Buddy Weiser just had a whole bunch of newspaper cuts into strip which made him look like a funky rastafarian.  We looked fabulous let me tell you, and also the meal was delicious which was chicken that had been marinated in tequila (much to Cricket's annoyance), lime juice, garlic, salsa and olive oil a.k.a. BUDDY'S DRUNKEN CHICKEN.....

Later we went out, had loads of highly intoxicating drinks, DANCED, yes I said danced, not something I do on a regular basis, but I thought 'what the fuck'.  We got in about 1am, drank and talked drivel for an hour or so and retired...a very civilized evening had by all.
