So today is the day that we help our good friend Carl get his wedding suit, which we also have to do for Morpheus because he's Best Man.

Now I'm not sure if you remember but the other day my adorable husband mentioned that the dress that I got from Zara wasn't appropriate for a wedding and that actually looked a bit cheap.  To which I might like to say that I incidentally wore on Friday night and everyone, even critical Kiwi Boy thought looked lovely.  Anyway...whatever.  SO, with this in mind I am going along (with Sumiko in tow) with the boys to find myself a nice little number for the wedding and I will most definitely be putting it on our joint card.....

After a lovely brunch in 'Anglers and Writers' across the street (which incidentally a film was being recorded in with Greg Kinnear and Ashley Judd the day before) we headed on up in a very fast cab to Barneys'...THE SHOP TO SHOP GIRLFRIENDS!!

Now ok I'm not frightened of shopping, far from it, I love a great adventure, but there's shopping and there's outrageously shopping, what the hell?  This shop is so far out of my league I feel invisible, which I'm sure I was to the shop attendants as absolutely none of them approached me to help and you know why?  Because they can tell, they just take one look at you (even though I was wearing my lovely knee length A-line suede skirt, with brown turtleneck and knee length boots...very chic) that there's no way you are in the Barney's league, absolutely not.  I mean even a simple little black dress that I tried on, which looked ok but wasn't exactly screaming at me to buy...good fucking job, was $2500.  HHHEEELLLOOO!! that's just nuts for a small black dress that I'm sure my mother could stitch up real quick on her ancient Hoover sewing machine.

So off I went in disgust with Sumiko following, whom I know earns a shit load of money but I'm sure even SHE wouldn't spend that much...  We caught up with the boys who were both in Armani dark blue suits that looked wonderful.  They really did both look extremely handsome, although a bit stiff, why do men stand like in an army line-up when checking themselves in the mirror...very strange!!

So they were all set, we left them to continue buying shoes, shirts, ties and cufflinks and headed across a couple of blocks over to Bloomingdales, to see if I had a better chance of getting that perfect outfit.

YES I HIT THE JACKPOT...HER NAME IS DONNA KAREN do you know her???  It's a fabulous brown 3/4 length leather skirt (very soft leather) with a fabulous chiffon halter neck in tannish/goldish colour that ties at the back of the neck and falls just below the waist.  Of course I'm going to have to search the earth for a suitable bra as it's totally see through (although Buddy Weiser says that Victoria Secret have those plastic things that you place over your boobs and it lifts them up but covers up the nipple, so it looks like you ain't wearing much, but lifts and covers...I'll have to check it out!!).  I already have fabulous strappy tan sandals, but when I got home and tried the whole outfit on again Morpheus didn't think the shoes were suitable for a church, so I may have to buy some more....whatever!!

This outfit is fabulous and I will also wear it to my girlfriends Lisa's wedding as well because she wants everyone to be glamorous at her do, no stiffness or pastel salmon suits...good for her!!

So I'm a happy girl, I have my outfit, its wild and probably not very weddingy but Sumiko loved it and Carl saw it on the mannequin and said it looked fab, so that's all that matters.

And before you start sending me life threatening emails, yes I am going to give Morpheus half the money for this outfit!!

Sumiko now needs to get some shoes, for some reason she says that she has lots of problems buying shoes because of her wide feet, jesus, she's obviously never seen mine, they're like paddles, I could flipper across the ocean with these things....

We took our pals on the way home to Tea and Sympathy (yeah I know, sad!!) for afternoon cream tea plus Welsh Rarebit which is basically cheese on toast, not sure why they call it that...very strange!!

Tonight I crashed and died again, lovely evening watching "Sex and the City" and "Le Femme Nikita", then hit the sack, got angry with Morpheus again, tried to sleep and couldn't, too much going on in my head....
