Independence Day is the birthday of the United States of America.....(what still only 300 years old???).  It is celebrated on July 4th each year in the United States. It is the anniversary of the day on which the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental  Congress - July 4, 1776...announcing to the world that the 13 colonies no longer belonged to Great Britain (we didn't want them anyway).  Independence Day was first observed in Philadelphia on July 8, 1776 (by a bunch of fat arse Americans who live on Phily Cheese Steaks and then die a sudden death of blocked arteries).  On July 4, 1777, the night sky of Philadelphia lit up with the blaze of bonfires below. Candles illuminated the windows of houses and public buildings. Church bells and volleys from ship cannons broke the quiet. The city was celebrating the first anniversary of the founding of the United States.
 

The Fourth of July soon became the main patriotic holiday of the entire country. Veterans of the Revolutionary War made a tradition of gathering on the Fourth to remember their victory. In towns and cities, the American flag flew; shops displayed red, white, and blue decorations; and people marched in parades that were followed by public readings of the Declaration of Independence.

Ok so today was very peaceful, AGAIN.  Cricket unfortunately is a bit poorly so spent most of the day in bed.  Myself, Morpheus, Buddy Weiser and Lacy all went to the beach but unfortunately its was pretty cloudy, and yes I know everyone says that the sun still gets through, but I think that's bullshit as far as my skin is concerned, because I didn't get shit today.  Josie and Kirk eventually got back around 2pm, after visiting their friends yesterday in the Hamptons (we don't go there, it's too farty for my taste).  So this evening we're at present watching the re-runs of "Millionaire" and watching Buddy cook up a storm.  He's also made for this evening a wonderful cherry pie with assorted other berries in it, so I insisted that we go to the shop and get vanilla ice-cream.  There are certain people out in this wide wide world of ours that eat pie with like chocolate ice-cream, or strawberry ice-cream, what the fuck is wrong with these people, you can ONLY have pie with vanilla ice-cream...c'mon, please people!!!

I went for my 2.5 mile run this evening again with Josie so I feel totally allowed to eat at least 2 portions of cherry pie....yum yum, can't wait.

Every evening at the baseball field across from the house, the deer congregate for their evening chew of the grass.  We always let Lacy out to run after them, which I'm sure is illegal in some way, but she's a 13 year old cocker spaniel, so not exactly threatening is she?  I love it, she goes bolting off towards them and then they flee, but this evening me and Cricket were watching her given it legs across the field, and the deer just stayed put, they must be used to this ball of fluff come out every evening to taunt them.  The next thing we knew Lacy was getting surrounded by the deer and they look pissed man, let me tell you.  Anyway the next thing we know, she's off like a shot back towards us...it was funny.

Kiwi Boy left this morning, I'm assuming he was ok and just wanted to get back before his early morning meeting tomorrow.  Maybe he really just hates us all......???
