So, this morning I was busy on the old "Dog and Bone" (phone).
I seriously never stopped gabbing for 2 hours....like that's unusual.
First I spoke to my mum, as she had left a message regarding her boots
while I was upstairs at the gym. So I called her back and we had
a nice chat, nothing was mentioned about our previous fight on the phone,
as it shouldn't be. What's the point of rehashing old arguments for
the sake of bringing them up again...NONE, so it's now left. Just
as my family likes it.
I then spoke to Sharri (other sharer) regarding the summer house.
My god Roger definitely left out rather a lot when he explained what the
house was like. Apparently the place was an absolute mess, there
was garbage strewn all over the place, the kitchen had to be thoroughly
cleaned before they could make anything to eat. She mentioned the
lack of curtains and hot water, which I already knew about, but didn't
let on. Surprising though, she sounded pretty calm, but did say that
at the time she wasn't at all. She didn't mention of she's going
to get an extra week or repaid by Roger, I'm assuming she's getting something
back, if not then she's nuts.....
I then called Time Warner to cancel our cable, the woman on the other
end was fine about it, usually you get 20 questions as to why your cancelling
etc. usually very embarrassing, but she was cool. So someone
will call by between 8-12 Thur morning to pick up the box and the remote.
Question: Why do they always give you a
4 hour period in which they will pick up, especially as they always either
turn up at 8:05am, (god forbid) or 1 minute before midday. I mean
they never ever seem to pick up at say 10am, right in the middle of their
scheduled pick up time? It just seems odd to me, no matter what the
company, they always give you a wide time to pickup...strange!!
We had a Reading at work this afternoon, Buddy Weiser was in the office when I got in, faxing job applications. For some reason he had a huge growth of facial hair, not sure if this is his summer look or that he can't be bothered shaving because he isn't employed at present (soon will be of course). Anyhow I made him watch this Reading with me. It was called "The Fourth Sister" directed by Michael Mayer, and translated from Russian by Janus something or other. Anyway, there was a whole bunch of them (8) on stage reading this play. Now a lot of times from Readings, before they are set to stage, you can get a strong feeling about the whole play, just by the actors sitting in a line reading his/her dialogue.....this was not one of them. With this Reading you needed to actually see the physical workings of it through the actors. Don't get me wrong there was definitely a powerful and passionate feeling in this Reading, but for most part I was confused and bewildered as to what the hell was going on?? I'm not sure if we're going to produce it at the Vineyard, Doug (Artistic Director) will make that decision.
Tonight we went to the Manhattan Penthouse for our annual Vineyard Theatre Benefit Gala. It was ok, a bit boring, with a bunch of people in badly fitting and outrageously silly outfits. Why can't people just dress simple. Simple is classic, it always has been. Don't come waltzing in to an evening (6ish) do! wearing a salmon pink ball gown, it looks ridiculous, especially when your over 60. Good god don't people know anything about style!!
We got home by 10pm...brilliant! Morpheus was very happy to find both his Rite Aid box of goodies had arrived, along with his Banana Republic box of goodies. Amongst other toiletries in the Rite Aid box, was the most enormous bottle of mouth listerene I've ever seen, it's huge. Also about 5 large bottles of Vaseline Intensive Cream. We're both big fans of this cream and apply it liberally, so we're always running out and Morpheus gets pissed off if he doesn't have any for his sensitive little skin.... yes I am taking the piss!
In his Banana Republic box was lots of great summer gear for him, amongst them was a pair of funky white pants that you roll up (if you want to) to wear with sandals, with a white t-shirt and a fabulous orange sweater. He looked great, dead funky. Also some similar pants in grey and other T-shirts. You can never have enough black and white T-shirts. I was just about to sulk that he hadn't gotten me anything when he through me a great very soft blue, sleeveless top, with a v-cut shape across the neck. Very Moroccan looking, I tried it on, it looks great. Of course being such a princess that I am, I now want them in all the colours and the ones with hoods....typical!!
That's it, good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, if
they do, get another mattress...yuck, that's gross!!
