So last night we had Harvest in the Square last night in Union Square
which, is basically all the local restaurants, liquor stores etc. get together
under one huge marquee and make their wares available to whomever bought
an $80 ticket. We had our own theatre table exhibit set up and Barbara
our founder bought our tickets, so we were set.
I also managed to wangle Morpheus in which he was pleased about as
I think he was feeling a bit left out considering he hadn't seen me for
two days….didums!!
Precious and myself went off to sample some of the nibbles that were available and also knock back as much free wine as possible. The Union Square Café table was wonderfully set up displaying lots of scrummy look delights, which we grabbed and only afterwards realized that there was actually a line waiting around the corner….oops, sorry about that!!
Francis Ford Coppola’s had two tables set up with his famous wine which, is absolutely delicious. There was also a fabulous tea table set up with teas from all over the world which truly were delicious, maybe I should experience a few more now rather than just the Earl Grey that I ALWAYS drink.
The event ended just before 10, we headed back to the theatre to drop off plants, posters, exhibit boards, then Morpheus got landed with fixing a problem with Ty’s computer, so after 20 minutes of being bored I decided to open a old bottle of champagne that had been living in the office fridge. Not sure what it was called, it was Californian though, I remember that and you know what it wasn’t so bad.
Ty dropped us off and we went to Barrow Pub to see Ayla and have a few more drinkies. It was funny because the night before Morpheus had dropped by there, had a few pints and chatted to some of the other patrons. So when we walked in a lot of them were in there again and said hi to him which was weird for me because we do EVERYTHING together, so for people to say hi to him and not me is very bizarre. I think it made him feel pretty good though.
We eventually went home at 3 this morning
TODAY
BITCH called and got me up this morning, I think she was hoping to
hang out this afternoon, which I would have loved but got roped into working
Box Office this afternoon, which I’m not really in the mood for but hey
come on I haven’t been in the place since Summer, I guess I owe them. I’ve
just given my very first spraggworld business card to our new Box
Office Manager Jim who is a sweet guy, he also thinks it looks really cool
so he’s obviously a man of good taste.
Did you see the thunder and lightening last night…it was wild. You see, as I get older I’m definitely get more appreciative of the storms. It’s taken me forever to feel this way and I was especially proud of myself last night as I stood hanging out of our apartment window letting the rain splash on my face, whilst watching the streaks of lightning passing by. It really was quite beautiful and I’m very pleased that I managed to stand there and watch it without freaking out.
You see as a child in school there was this teacher that told us that when we had thunder and lightning that it was because God was angry with us and that’s why it was so loud and noisy because he was cross. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT, I mean talk about frightening the shit out of a bunch of kids or what!! What an evil cow, anyway since then I’ve been scared shitless of thunder and lightening to the point where I would sit as far away from the windows as possible and just shake….pathetic really isn’t it??
So I’ve just rubbed shoulders with David Strathairn, the actor. He was in The Firm (Cruise’s brother), Sneakers (blind guy), Passion Fish (handyman) etc. He’s a brilliant actor and I’m really quite in awe of him. Anyway he started to help one of our interns bring some heavy boxes down the stairs, which made me feel guilty because I hadn’t helped so I told him so (in a jovial manner) and began to help as well. Anyway we got made space for the boxes and passed a few words, so now I’m dead chuffed….I really am quite sad aren’t I??
I was hoping to watch the opening of the Olympics 2000 but I think it’s
already happened. I wonder if they’re showing some events on the
TV tonight…hope so. I think BITCH is coming over for dinner as Morgo
it out on an advertising do!! Should I cook or get take-out….decisions,
decisions!! Oh yeah before I forget I got some great pictures back from
the last weekend at the summer house AND included in these pics are two
butts shots from Morgo and my husband. Now the question is should
I put them on the page, you know what I think I will…not until after the
weekend though!!
