Kiwi Boy and Alix came round and met us for brunch today, we ended up going to Nadine's which is a nice place with usually only gay clientele in, but a lot more straight families today. Kiwi Boy must of been feeling it as he started off with a Tanqueray and Tonic, at 1:30 in the afternoon. Well I guess it's lunchtime, why the hell not??
After brunch we walked over to the 26th St Flea Market which was a bad mistake as my shoes were killing me. I wouldn't mind if they were huge stilettos, but there flats, but they dig into the sides of my feet really badly. So we nipped into a crappy shoe shop where I bought a cute pair of Adidas like slippers which are incredibly comfy.
The Flea Market was pretty much empty by the time we arrived, well not exactly empty but all the good stuff had gone. We did see two fabulous Barcelona chairs in brown but they had been sold already over 20 hours ago, don't know why the guy hadn't put a 'SOLD' sign on them...idiot. I was gutted as he had only sold them both for $600, what a bargain. Some lucky bastard now owns two fab chairs...hate him or her..
We actually got a cute little Yugoslavian 50's slatted bench/table for our tv to go on. It looks really good and it was only $90, so I'm happy now as we also then moved all the videos and play station crap from behind, stored it somewhere else, and set it up so that it's just the tv on very trendy bench with video and cable box underneath. All very tidy and streamlined, just how I like it. Actually I hope Kiwi Boy and Alix were ok with us farting about the house, settling our new piece in and that we weren't being rude. Then again whenever Kiwi comes round he reads all my magazines, eats whatever I put in front of him, then leaves without hardly saying a word all evening. Now I guess most people would think that was rude but knowing him the way I do, he's just comfortable...that's all! Alix looked great, it was good to see her, I think she'd changed her hair colour, but I forgot to ask.
Tonight was great as my mate Mother was over with his boyfriend Pat. They are holidaying in Florida at the moment and got a good deal on a flight to New York for a couple of days to see me and do some serious shopping. Mother is from Manchester and is one of my great gay buddies so it's always brilliant when he's around as we just talk over each other but actually do hear what the other person is saying. I'm sure we drive everyone around us completely nuts...who cares. Anyway they came over around 7, to which we spent the next hour catching up on Manchester gossip which was good, not that there was any but it's just nice to hear about my home town. Candy came over shortly followed by Leo, for some reason Leo thought it would be appropriate to buy Morpheus a rather gruesome looking knife with lots of extras and myself some Pepper Spray. See these Long Islanders don't know how to relax in a big city, the boy is seriously nuts I think he thinks we need protection...whatever, crazy guy!!. Candy brought me a beautiful orchid, which was totally unnecessary but I'm so glad she did. At one point I thought that Leo may be a bit weird around the company of gay people, but he seemed perefectly fine which is good as Mother would of made mince meat out of him, she can be a right cow when she wants to be you know...
We had reservations at Bottino's on 10th Street between 24th and 25th St I think. It's a great little restaurant with a beautiful garden out back but Candy didn't seem to want to eat there so we stayed inside. By the time the appetizers came I was well on my way to being a touch tipsy, so I was getting more and more obnoxious throughout the meal, not in a bad way, just a bit hyper. The boys thought I was a blast but I think Morpheus wanted to kill me, especially when myself, Mother and Leo snuck off for a fag and got back to find everyone waiting for us so that they could start there meal.....ooops!!
We had a blast, sat in the bar afterwards drinking and fagging away, Candy and Leo left quite abruptly, not sure if they were having a few serious words or not, I guess I should of been paying attention but I wasn't really. Then again Leo seemed pretty tense all night, wonder what was wrong? Anyway we then took the guys to the Blind Tiger which is so NOT a place to take my wonderful homosexual friends but the beer is good and that's what it's all about..
The night was still young, but we're not, even Mother stopped jabbering away and my god that boy can talk, if not more than me....noooo I hear you say. Anyway we were all knackered so we went our separate ways.
