If you haven't read Sundays page yet (wish you won't have because I haven't done it yet) then you'll know that last night was our productions opening night plus party to follow at Union Bar on Park Avenue South. The play is "More Lies About Jerzy" starring Jared Harris whom I never met, which is a shame because I think he dad was or is (is he still alive?) fabulous. You know that mad Irish man Richard Harris. Anyway his son looks just as cheeky and mischievous as he did. Anyway Peta Wilson is a friend of his and came to see the show, along with Julia Ormond, Sarah Gilbert and other not so famous faces but you know you've seen them somewhere before kind of thing.
Ok so as I'm typing this I'm watching last nights Le Femme Nikita that I taped. Guess what she's wearing the same outfit on TV that she was wearing last night, a 3/4 shearling coat with tan leather pants...hhheeelllooo. The skanky cow, she's stealing from the costume department!! Then again there cool clothes, it's not like you'd expect to see a Burger King employee chilling out in their uniform now would you?
The party went reasonably well although I must ring and bollock the manager of the bar today as he wasn't at all prepared for the onslaught of people last night. I explained to him that at theatre opening parties everyone arrives AT ONCE so you have to have your shit together behind the bar. I told him to pre-pour drinks which they did but too slowly as people had downed them quicker than they could pour them. Also there were only two people behind the bar with like 150 people all wanting drinks. It was ridiculous!!
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves which I guess is all that matters.
I left after an hour, as I felt like shit.
TODAY
So I still feel like shit today AND I got my period this morning so
my back and stomach are killing me. Basically I'm a bit of a mess.
And wouldn't you know it that Morpheus is off enjoying himself on the slopes
while I'm at home all poorly. Typical men they're never here when
you need them!!....
I was quite disappointed with the Golden Globes last night, thought they were rather boring. I loved Julia Roberts' dress but her beau Benjamin Bratt looked soo bored, hardly smiled at all. And what was going on with Kim Catrrell's face, it was all brown and blotchy, like she'd poured false tan make-up all over...yuck!!
So I still have to buy my nana some slippers for her Christmas present. Maybe I'll just go to Century 21 and see what I can find there. Slippers aren't exactly the most fun thing to buy but if that's what she wants then that's what she'll get.
I'm glad to say that with our contacts through the theatre myself and Ty can get tickets to see "Seussical" with Rosie O'Donnell. This is great, I'm very chuffed, at least there are SOME benefits to working at a off-Broadway theatre.
Ok I better go get some flu remedies and get myself drugged up.
