Ok so "More Lies About Jerzy" is absolutely fantastic and Bruce Weber from The New York Times is a prick.  Then again when does the New York Times ever have a good work about any plays going on in the city?  They certainly hate everything we do.

The play explores the life of Jerzy Lesnewski, a brilliant, enigmatic writer whose memoir of his childhood in WWII Poland wins the National Book Prize. When a fact-checker finds some inconsistencies in his story, an ambitious young journalist begins to dig around Jerzy's past -- and no one, especially Jerzy, is prepared for what can happen in the blurry terrain between truth and fiction. Set in Manhattan in the turbulent '70s, More Lies About Jerzy is a moving meditation on art, truth, celebrity and the writer's responsibility to his subjects and himself.

I'm telling you this play is brilliant, Jerzys character is acted with great charisma by Jared Harris who is Richard Harris' son (is he dead now?).  I don't think he's very well known here but somehow I think he will, very soon.  I know he was in Happiness and I Shot Andy Warhol neither of which I've seen but he certainly has that same brilliant talent as his father...god what a presence.  Oh yeah he also did that made for tv movie on HBO about John Lennon and Paul McCartney, which I never saw because I hate it when they pick people that "they think" look a little like John and Paul and also they never ever get the accents right.  Speaking Scouse is a major task, you've got to get the phelgm sound just right......

So anyway it was as a shame as I'd never met Jared, or Darko (director) or Davey when we did the "meet and greet" before rehearsals, as we always do.  I was in Mexico you see so I missed it.  I take it that I don't have to explain what a "meet and greet" is do I?  Anyway I went to see the play last night with Ayla (Nov 16) who also thought it was wonderful.  So before curtain we were hanging around the office when I bumped into Davey Holmes the playwright.  I introduced him to Ayla, which was strange as he doesn't even know me but he knows that I have something to do with the theatre.  Of course I immediately fucked up by introducing him as the director...hhheeelllooo, wrong you silly cow.  So of course I then felt really stupid and awkward.  Anyway after the show I was waving good bye to him and the little sweetie comes straight over and gives me a big hug and thanks me for appreciating his show.  What a doll, you see some playwrights can be a real pain in the arse, very egotistical and paranoid, but Davey is really cool and let me tell you cute as a button AND straight!!  I know unbelievable.

Anyway I urge you to see the play it runs through Feb 11, and I promise if you email me on this site and ask for tickets I will get you a nice little discount...ok!!

Oh yeah and also on our way out we saw Peta Wilson AGAIN, god that woman can't stay away.  This time she was wearing a full length black shearling coat with fur trim.  Now I wonder if that's from the costume department as well?

So after the play we went to the Barrow Pub for a little drink and then I came home and DIDN'T eat anything before hitting the sack.  Listen I'm really trying at the moment to lose some pounds so give me a break!!

HE'S BACK
This morning my lovely little angel came home around 8am, looking particularly exhausted and grumpy, he flopped down on me fully clothed and slept for like an hour, which was good because I didn't, I just lay there in pain with his arm stuck in my ribs.  No I'm kidding it's great to have him home, I've missed him.  He soon got up showered and went to work, I really don't know how he does it.

Work was good, although my computer is completely knackered and says that the C memory is completely full but with what, there's no crap on it, just all the hardware that is usually on, it's so annoying.

I was supposed to go to the foot doctors this morning to get another X-ray and also for them to check my heel as I think that piece of glass from New Years Eve (Dec 31) is still in there, I can feel a lump of some sort.  However I didn't go, couldn't be bothered, yeah I know!!  I'll go next week.

So this evening was lovely with my honey, we just sat in ordered from Surya which is a fancy indian restaurant near us on Bleecker and watched all the good tv.  He was really tired and didn't talk much which left me going on with myself all evening.  The poor boy!!

Does anyone out there apart from Kajagoogoo get the National Geographic?  Oh god it's a brilliant magazine, it's absolutely fascinating, tonight I've been reading all about Mars and how during it's youth billions of years ago it was an active and violent place.  Volcanoes erupted, meteorites blasted craters in the surface and catastrophic floods carved channels.  Mars has quieted down since then, but the forces of wind and possibly lava and water still alter the rugged terrain of this 4.5 billion-year-old plant.  I know you might be bored but bare with me!!  You see they have had images recently that show relatively recent water erosion, which was a surprise as scientists believed that water had not flowed on Mars for billions of years, that it was locked up in the polar ice caps or in deep permafrost layers.  Now they have found a crater (east of Gorgonum Chaos) which has cliff faces etched with gullies that liquid water mixed with soil, rocks, and ice may have cut.  "The features appear to be so young that they might be forming today," says Michael Malin, designer and lead scientist of the Surveyor camera.  "These are landforms that have never been seen before on Mars".

Cool.......
