We'd been back less than 10 minutes when Professor rang to tell us that Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock were in the bar.....
You've never seen 6 people move as quick as we did. It was great but rather embarrassing, in we walked practically right into them because they were sat quite near the entrance so you could hardly miss them. Hugh looked good with his newly shortened hair and Sandra just looked fabulous, she really is pretty and she was there bumping and grinding away to the music. I felt a bit silly actually because they're crew were all around them and then there was us just stood there gawping at them. So after a few minutes we left and went back to Mary Anne's. Oh yeah and also later on after our lot had gone home, me and Morpheus nipped in to see Professor and Sandra Bullock was still there, dancing up a storm and doing shots. She looks like a real laugh actually. Couldn't see Grant anywhere, guess he'd gone back to his hotel to snuggle up with his teddy and watch porn...
Right so here we are in the windy city and yes it's blood windy alright. Julie and Nik look great, even though she keeps complaining that she's gained weight, she hasn't, she looks brilliant. So last night we all went to MK restaurant which seemed to be on the outskirts of town. Oh sorry BEFORE that we went to have a drink in the bar at the top of the Hancock building. The view was absolutely stunning, especially as the sun was just going down which gave off that beautiful bright orange colour.
I did get a bit of a lump actually mainly because of the Twin Tower. You feel the similiarity as soon as you reach the top, even though the view is different, the feeling is the same, so that was quite sad. What I found amazing was the size of the lake, it's like an ocean, it just goes on forever. Also they have bits of beaches, I mean literally bits, you can only imagine the crowds in the summer, all vying for that small piece of beach area to lay on.
So after just the one drink we got the lift (elevator) back down to the ground, hailed a cab and headed to MK Restaurant. It's a two year old restaurant, with open brick, dark furniture and a great layout to "people watch". We were stunned and surprised to see our old friend Rory who actually knows Professor very well and was in town on business. Small world...he seemed well.
Our food was delicious just as I expected. I had lobster salad to start and then the duck. My only moan would have to be the cost of the wine, which was extortionate and far outweighed the cost of the food.
The atmosphere was good but I did notice that most of the clientele were much older than us. This is unusual as New York trendy restaurant crowds are normally our age and younger, but these people were definitely older.
We were going to go to Velvet Room afterwards for drinks but I gathered from the others that they were completely knackered so we all decided to skip drinks and go back to the Holiday Inn. Besides Morpheus was ill, even though he never mentioned it and would never moan unlike me, so we went back.
I ended up staying up and watching the "Mothman Prophecies" which was crap so don't bother.
The room is nice and big and we have the most amazing view of the Hancock building and the lake. Best view I've ever had in a hotel room.
So before I begin to tell you about Chicago, let me tell something more more exciting that happened last night while I was out with the gang. Well there we were in Automatic Slim's eating delicious food and drinking delectable margaritas. As usual we were given a certain amount of time before boss man Professor threw us out. Well to be honest it WAS getting packed and we WERE sat kind of in the way of frat boys and tarty women. So we left and went back to Mary Anne's for some more drinkies.
