Now I know I've mentioned it to my friends and probably 50 or so other people that I may have run into at parties. Clearly this is an issue with me, but one that has to be dealt with in a mature and sensible manner.
Now you must understand that my mother's birthday isn't until the end of April 2003 but I'm slowly starting to plan it now so that I can get my head round the whole thing and still hopefully have my marriage intact by that time next year.
So with this in mind I emailed my dad the other day, telling him my plans for them to come visit and that he should keep this a secret from my mother, at least until next March, when yes of course we'd tell her because my mother is a vain woman and would want time to shop, go on a diet, have her hair done, you know the usual shit that women do. So what does he do????
Yeah, you got it, he tells her...YESTERDAY!!
I went fucking ballistic, I mean I specifically asked him not to and you know why he did, to get in my mother's good graces, that's why, thinks I'm bloody stupid he does. Oooh Bobby's (my mother) upset with me, how can I sort it out, oh I know, I'll be the one to tell her the good news about the trip next year....AARRGGHHHH!!
So of course between now and next April ALL I'm going to hear from her is questions and needs about this trip...what a nightmare!!
Ok so what else, oh yeah so today was supposed to be chores day, did some but not many. Mainly because Candy rang us to go shopping on the last Barney's Warehouse Sale. These occur twice a year I think and you can get some great bargains, but you do have to search. This some people are good at, me...NO. You see it needs to be waved in my face, while being hung in a perfect manner from a good hanger (no wires ones thankyou, just call me Mommie Dearest). Actually when we got there Candy only had a couple of things, one thing she'd actually picked for me which was a cute pair of pyjama like pants with little purple balls on the end of them, they're Dosa, so they were cute.
I got a few cool things, especially a fab long (very trendy right now) cashmere scarf from the men's section.
Morpheus was a sweetie and paid for my stuff as I'm skint, mainly because the Vineyard still haven't paid me and now I'm getting a teeny tiny bit mad at them.
After Barney's we headed over to Chelsea Flower Market and to the Dosa sample sale, where they had the exact same pants that Candy had picked out for me but they were about $20 more, so I did good didn't I? I got a couple of beautiful slip dresses, one of which I'm wearing now and which I will probably where forever, it's dead cute, quite sexy and very easy to throw on first thing.
Candy also got the same dresses, but they are cute.
We stopped by to see the patient Professor and Mary Anne. He seems fine, in fact whatever drugs he's on, he should keep taking for the REST OF HIS LIFE, because that boy is just a happy chap at the moment. He didn't bitch about anyone once today and we were there for like 45 minutes, that's a miracle for him. I'm really nervous though about driving him to Cold Spring this Thursday, god it's going to be a nightmare that journey.
After our bedside visit we went to "Cowgirl Hall of Fame" ate chicken fried chicken, drank margaritas and then came home.
What a great Sunday...thanks Candy for making us leave the house.
Actually Candy could afford to eat bad food, she's lost nearly 10lbs and looks fantastic. Wish I could say the same, although I seem to remember Morpheus giving me some kind of compliment during dinner. Something about my weight and that I look better this summer than last because I'm working out all the time and not lying on a beach all day. Guess he's got a point...
