I finally got myself a lovely velvet Marc Jacobs jacket, so I hope that's going to work. I also have an appointment with the hotels hairdressers at 2:30 today to get my hair blown out and straightened. Listen girls, if you don't think the outfits going to work, then just make sure the hairs fine.
So today we kind of hung around the hotel room a while, ate, watched movies, took long baths in that fab tub and then spent a little while downstairs....., still can't drag him away. Apart from that nothing really. We did though both need our shoes shining and there is a man in the foyer that shines shoes, but it's usually when they're on your feet, which was a problem because I needed to get my hair done, so I gave my boots to Morpheus which clearly made the whole world an awful place to be in, because he's huffed and friggin puffed about it for ages. Finally we went down to the lobby together and I just walked off and left him with a handful of shoes and boots. Fingers crossed that mine will actually get done, but I'm not banking on it...
So I walk into the Robert Cromean Hair Salon and there he is the man himself, being shot for a commercial or video promotion of some kind. So this tall hairdresser guy that looks like something from Sesame Street sits me down and asks me what colour and cut I'd like. I'm like whoa take it easy tiger, I'm just here to have it washed and blown out. Of course the poor guy sulks a bit, but hey get your receptionist to clean her ears out ok? So with that the hair bear guys sends me off with a cute little hair washer guy. So what you have to remember is that it's nearly 3pm now and WE HAVE to be sat down in our seats for the Billboard Awards over at the MGM Grand by 4:30, so I'm thinking that I definitely have time, but so long as things move at good speed we should be fine. OR MAYBE NOT!!
You see towards the end of my fantastic hair washing experience and the free head massage aswell I hear the director of the shoot tell the room that in a few moments he will need absolute silence, meaning all conversation PLUS hairdryers need to be turned off while they're recording. Ok fair enough but hello people, I have to be somewhere so let's move it along shall, cos I need that hairdryers to be on, full blast in like the next 3 minutes.
So I creep back along to my seat while the big hair bear guys just stands and watches the shoot going on. I swear my hands started to perspire by the pure fact that I was clenching my seat, trying not to yell out....."GET ON WITH MY FUCKING HAIR MAN".
Ok I was only put out for 2 minutes or so, but come on...PLACE TO GO, PEOPLE TO SEE...
He didn't do a good a job as my hairdresser Josh here in the city, who by the way works for Jason Cory over on Jane Street here in the Village, but it was good enough for tonight.
So we met up with Candy and all the Fox gang this evening, who all looked very jazzy, especially Roger with his trendy black leather jacket, very rock n roll. Actually we met in a bar in the MGM Grand hotel for drinkies beforehand and everyone seemed very chilled about not particularly being in their seats for 4:30, it was just me that was panicking. Heather was fascinated by what people were wearing and we kept seeing a few C list stars but nobody really big, they all went in through the back where the red carpet was.
Once in we realised that one of our tickets was way up in the back, just all by itself, so my darling husband let himself be the one to go off up by his lonesome, which was really good of him because I certainly didn't want to be the one.
Anyway Candy, my little angel, went up and got him, you see there were loads of random empty seats, so he just sat in the one by me and hoped and prayed that it wasn't anybody's, which it wasn't.
Ok so Cedric the comedian was hosting, he did a pretty good job and then all the stars flocked on stage one by one. The best was Run DMC who paid tribute to their fallen band member Jam Z which was great, them and Steve Tyler from Aerosmith just rocked the whole place, it was awesome. &nbps; Also my other favorite time was when Nelly was onstage playing that song..."it;s getting kinda hot in here, so take off all your clothes", oh yeah we rocked to that one.
I guess seeing Cher was kind of cool and even listening to Justin Timberlake's song was cool. It was a great night and I felt very honored to be there.
Leaving was a nightmare, it took forever to get out, but once out we all headed over to Nob Hill which is a very sophisticated and stylish restaurant within the hotel.
Unfortunately Morpheus had to leave after dinner to catch a plane back to New York, because tomorrow is comp day which is very important so he has to be there for his team. So then there was just me, but I was being very well looked after by the crazy Fox people, who literally are all nuts, especially Al, he just cracks me up that one. The food was delicious and the conversations were a riot, at one point everyone was in their own little group, chit chatting and gossiping, it was fun to listen in on. This is John and Veronica there from the California office, so they were in their own little world, chatting away.
I know you've seen this pic before but this again is Scott, Audrey and Roger, who unfortunately were at the far end of the table, so I couldn't get in on their conversation. Me and Candy caught up on a bit of gossip and then that crazy Heather woman
made me speak with an American accent. Oh my god she WOULD NOT relent, it was so embarrassing and EVERYONE was staring at me.
I've always refused to speak in an American accent, mainly because I can't do it and feel really fucking stupid, but she wouldn't leave me alone, so I did it. Yeah yeah everyone laughed, but they reckon I did good....WHATEVER, back off bitch.
Actually I'm joking, I really like Heather, she's a riot, she actually had braces put on her own teeth so that he son wouldn't feel so silly about his own, how cute is that? Did I already mention that?
Some of us went off to play roulette, namely myself, Candy and Allison. You know for a quiet girl Allison is some serious roulette player, she was doing REALLY well, very impressive. I put down about $60 or so, but as soon as I lost it, I left, off back to my hotel room to watch the "Banger Sisters" which was crap.
Tomorrow's my last day, better make the most of it...
