No what I failed on miserably was the wine, oh yeah baby, I guzzled that stuff back like it was my last day on earth and it tasted like heaven.
Anyway enough of that, actually there's a Irish guy that works there called Michael, very nice chap, but doesn't look Irish AT ALL, and his girlfriend Joe, who is from Leigh, near Manchester, my hometown. So of course me and Joe were chatting away like mad cows, it was great to catch up with someone that is from the same town, although she's been living here for nearly 20 years....wow. The funniest thing was that we found out that we had in the past dated the same guy, that guy being Frank Worthington, yeah the old fuck that used to play for England...eons ago, jesus that was a shocker to say the least. Of course we laughed our arses off and exchanged some naughty tit bits which was a riot. She was great, very beautiful and very funny, a good laugh.
So today I was bit hungover when I woke but that all went away when Ty, Lulu and baby Olivia arrived, looking all refreshed and happy. Though Olivia does have a cold and is a wee bit snotty
It's always good to have kids around as it gives you a great excuse to do rock all and just play with the little one, which we all took in turn as you can see from the pics.
I guess we should of gone out and traipsed around the village for some fab thrift finds but to be honest it was pretty cold and I just couldn't be bothered, so we sat around the house, chatted, read and, well, played with Olivia.
It was lovely actually, especially as the guys were in the kitchen preparing for tonights meal which I'm very excited about and refuse completely to be dainty with the food due to my diet, that would only be rude and I'm not a rude person, well, not all the time.
Dakota was such a good dog, she didn't seem to mind when Olivia stood on her tail or grabbed her hair by the tufts, such a good girl that dog.
So by 7pm this evening I was absolutely starving and had tried to refrain from the table nibbles, but couldn't. I love it when "nameless" cooks but to be honest if your used to eating at midnight then fine, but I usually like to eat before midnight if that's ok. Morpheus kept himself busy by reading to Olivia
Actually the waiting game got so bad that Morpheus decided to eat his cigarettes whilst waiting for his dinner, clearly the man was losing his mind
Finally around 9ish we ate and my god it was definitely worth waiting for, absolutely delicious meat, wrapped in filo pastry that had been covered with various ingredients but most influential was the cranberries which sounds weird but was delicious.
We also had spaghettie squash which is one of my favorites. I must remember to do it for my folks when next in England as they would love it and I don't think it's widely used in the UK.
After dinner I watched the dog show on Animal Planet becuase it was too cold to sit in the kitchen and I wanted to be near the fire. No I wasn't being rude, I did go back and forth into the kitchen every once a while to check out the conversation but to be hoenst it was mainly Ty getting pissed and talking gibberish like she does after a few wines. It was great to see her so relaxed, she doesn't often get the chance with the baby and the theatre.
So that was it really, a good day, a great evening and early to bed, well it was about 1:30, so that's ok.
So I completely failed last night with my diet, actually ordering food was ok, I had a very light, watery lobster bisque, yeah I know, still probably full of cream, and then just a half roast chicken to follow, which I felt bad about because Jim the owner of the restaurant came over and clearly wasn't amused at my choice from his extensive menu. Hey sorry buddy, just trying to trim the waistline.
whereas I sat and flicked channels like a madwoman.
