Thurs July 11, 2002 - 12:50pm 4th July Weekend
But hey, just remember to come back to me ok????
Well last night's open air theatrical concert was a HUGE success. If you hadn't heard, my pal Mark Setlock was performing in "Fully Committed" last night in Madison Square Park. A lot of my friends were supposed to show, but didn't, hey their loss not mine. It was brilliant and as funny as it was the first time around. Danny Myer (Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Cafe) was M.C. for the evening, but had to rush back to his new restaurant "11 Madison", across the street.
I took some pics for the Vineyard website and then sat and enjoyed the show. My pal Darlene Pergola, manager of Cafe Deville over on 13th and 3rd came by which was great, she's a riot and also her friend Rick who owns "Halo" and the "Duplex". He's quite a character, reminds of a Rod Stewart type, with his raspy voice.
Actually we were one of the few people to be drinking wine on the lawn (naughty naughty), which was going down very well to the point where I thought I was going to pee my pants, I was SOOOO desperate for the loo.
So after the show I practically ran like a mad woman across to "Tabla" to use their loo. Myself and Morpheus had a few Cosmopolitans with Ty, Darlene and Rick, then bid our farewell to head uptown to Candy and Matilda's bar-b-que.
It was very fun but to be honest I'm not entirely sure what went on because by the time I got there I was severly stewed, much to the annoyance of Morpheus, but whatever.
I do remember Morpheus and Candy doing some kind of Karaoke thing out on the roofdeck which I'm sure, was pissing off the neighbors, but nobody complained. It was funny, I do think though that my husband reckons he's the next Michael Jackson, but without all the monkeys and little boys...
I know me and Matilda discussed in great length our new multi-million dollar deal. All will be revealed eventually, let's see if it happens first. But apart from that nothing.
I know me and David were rambling on about something, not sure what. He is such a cutie though, he even drove us home, well actually not quite home, we made him drop us off at The Barrow because CLEARLY we hadn't had enough to drink and needed more liquid.....pathetic we are.
Now I really can't remember who was in The Barrow, I know Debs was behind the bar but that's about it.
Great night, great friends, lots of fun. If your reading Candy and Matilda, thank you SOOOO MUCH for last night, it was great. Oh yeah, David thanks for the swordfish, it was delicious, I'm assuming you made it as you kept going about it.....ha ha!!
It's after 1 now, so shortly I will depart for some seriously crappy English magazines, get some lunch and hit the roof for an afternoon of sun. Yeah I know I should be doing web work but honestly, look outside New Yorkers it's fabulous out there. Actually come to think of it Al was supposed to be meeting me at 11 for a little chat, he never called, wonder what happened??? Oh well
