Tues July 23, 2002 - 10:55am
So I was up at 8 this morning, wide awake, listening to Morpheus getting ready while doing the odd crunch...bless him!!
At 8:30 I left to venture over to the newsagents that has lots of industry mags. I was looking specifically for a web magazine to hopefully find a classified section with companies that I could write to for work. Didn't find shite, but I did experience an unfortunate incident, by way of a smelly tramp guy that I've seen before who just has on a blanket and little else. I didn't even hear or smell him coming, until he'd already TAPPED me on the shoulder for money. I nearly fucking died, jesus the man touched me, helloo, get the fuck off me you smelly bastard. You know and I hadn't even had my first Java by that time. NOT a good way to start my tuesday.
So I also went to see our super, Sheikh this morning to get a listing of the apartments for rent in this building. All of them, even the ones facing East (view of Empire State Building) are cheaper than ours, so I'm going to use this information when I'm writing to our landlord Barnet this afternoon and hopefully they'll come back with a reduced rent for us.
My only concern is that I saw my pal Bridget this morning who lives in the Mews behind us. They are moving now (real shame) mainly because she contacted the management company to negotiate their rent because they had found out that the people next to them (in the same apartment) were paying a $1,000 LESS than them. Anyhow the management company clearly didn't give a shit and sent them back forms for departure, so now Bridget is seething and feels like they've been practically evicted.
God we're screwed if that happens to us. I guess I'm going to have to be VERY diplomatic when it comes to re-writing that letter.
Wish me luck...
Right I'm now going online to webmonster.com to get me a job, all I want is to work part-time in some web design office with nerdy teenagers who travel by skateboard and don't mind some old broad messing about doing some web design/management...that's all.
