"Rocked by a series of scandals involving priests accused of sexual misconduct, the Vatican is wrestling with how best to handle such cases, which have shaken Catholics worldwide."

What do you mean "how best to handle such cases"? Ok tell me WHY OH WHY do these "people of the so-called bloody cloth" continuously over years and years, get away with this?

I mean it's insane. You know these are the same people who are against divorce, abortion, gay rights, but they feel absolutely fine in slipping their hand down some 12 old choir boys tunic thing and having a good grope. DIRTY OLD BASTARDS

I swear to god (well my god anyway) we are SOOO living in a pathetically hypocritcal world.

There was some guy in England I think (read it in the Economist) that had molested hundreds of boys over like a 20 year period and NO ONE said anything!! What is wrong with people, these poor children are growing up, clearly thinking that this is an ok thing for the local vicar to do, and so don't know any different, but are obviously not emotionally stable and grow up completely fucked up.

Chop their fucking balls off that's what I say.

In the United States, the church has paid out millions of dollars to settle many of the cases.

Just Monday, the FBI announced that two priests were among more than 40 people arrested as part of major investigation into child pornography on the Internet. Last week, the Vatican accepted the resignation of U.S. bishop in Florida who offered to step down after admitting to molesting a teenage boy more than 25 years ago.

And in Massachusetts, 86 plaintiffs are suing the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston over sex abuse allegations against John Geoghan, a defrocked priest convicted last month on charges of fondling a 10-year-old boy a decade ago.

The problem is not confined to the United States.

"There was a case in France recently where a bishop received a suspended sentence of three months for failure to exercise sufficient oversight over a sexual abuser. "There is a case in Poland today where an archbishop is being accused of sexual misconduct by a seminarian."

Pope John Paul II recently distributed a series of new guidelines requiring bishops to report probable cases of sexual misconduct directly to the Vatican. Once a case is reported, a church tribunal composed only of priests will hear it.

The rules, however, impose strict secrecy on any investigation, and observers say the process fails to provide a uniform solution."

So basically people when you think about heaven and what the pearly white gates might look like when you get to them, just take time-out to consider exactly whom it is that's going to meet you up there.

For me, well I've known for a long time that I won't be on the pearly white gate guest list, but you know what I'd rather hang with the nasty little red dwarves and party, than eat cupcakes and drink tea with a bunch of hypocritical bastards that call themselvese "MEN OF THE CLOTH".

Ok I'm done.

So last night was very pleasant, myself and hubby stayed home, had a lovely dinner and watched my newest favorite programme, "The Osbournes" which is basically about Ozzy Osbourne and his family on MTV on Tuesdays at 10:30pm. It's fantastic and I love it. All they do is swear and for msot of the time you can't really understand Ozzy as he slurs his words a lot and still has a thick Birmingham (I think) accent. When understood though, he is hysterical, I love him and am actually thinking about buying his new album, purely because of this show.

Ok more work to do, later....
