Even when Lisa picked her up, she's there smiling at me, while playing with her mum's hair, the next thing she throws her arms out towards me, as if you say, ok it's your turn, you can hold me now! How cool is that? Don't you just love kids like that, dead sociable and not whiny or needy. But then that's Lisa all over, very independent, very self willed, so it's no surprise that her daughter is the same.
So after half an hour of playing with her she was wrapped up and bundled off to her play school, which then left Lisa some free time to come to lunch with myself and Julie.
Lunch was fun, although the weather was miserable out, so it was quite depressing to look out onto the street, but whatever.
Janet eventually popped in with Ellie and Fay, her two little girls, who always at first just stare at me, then eventually smile and ease up. They're both so big now, Ellie is nearly 8, which totally shocked me, christ I can remember when Janet told us she was pregnant, I would never have said it was 8 years ago.
So after lunch Julie very kindly took me and my large suitcase back into town, where I was meeting up with Kevin to stay with him and Nicola and meet there new baby Pyper. Oh yeah it's all about the kids this trip, now do you realise why Morpheus didn't want to come?
Actually I dropped my case off at Kevin's building and then went off for a bit of retail therapy. Karen Millen on King Street was a big disappointment, the clothes are weird there, funny sizes, bad stitching, bizarre colours, all this pastel stuff sucks, hate it.
Ok so I did nip into DKNY which yeah I know seems kind of silly, seeing as it's cheaper over here, but you know it was raining and I just found myself in there. And yes I found a fabulous chocolate brown skirt, that works wonders with my new boots, so I bought it, fuck it, I'm on holiday.
So then I made my way over to Marks and Spencer's the fab store in town to meet Kevin to get dinner for tonight.
He's a changed man since he's become a dad, I don't know how, but he's definitely different? Anyway we decided on chinese, so we got lots of microwaveable goodies to eat.
So we walked into their fab, trendy apartment, then into the babies bedroom where Nicola was feeding Pyper. Oh my god to see this vision was wild, honestly it was crazy, just wasn't what I would expect, but bloody hell Nicola looks fantastic, lost all the weight, and the kids only 4.5 months, so she's done really well.
Clearly Pyper hears a different voice other than her parents, so she turned her attention off her mother's breast and slowly slowly turned to look at me. Wow dagger stares or what? but she's sooo beautiful, angelic almost, you know when you see children with that cherubic face, this is what she looks like, but add the devil stare and you've got it, she's great, lovely little girl.
I have pictures, but my scanner isn't working...sorry.
She's not a girl that you immediately grab and play with, she likes to suss you out first, so I left her alone for most of the evening, but just before she went to bed for the night I held her for about 3 minutes and then her bottom lip started going so I passed her back to Nicola.
So we had a lovely evening, watch tv and ate good chinese food, well except for the noodles because Kevin burnt them, god only knows how he did that but he did.
It's funny they have a dining table with chairs but never ever have people over??? I guess they came with the flat.
They very kindly let me have their room so I slept on this fantastic funky bed where the head and bottom raises by the push of a button, it's fab, and I played with it for hours until I passed out.
I also got to watch tv in bed which is a novelty over here, not many Brits have tv's in there rooms, or do they? Actually yeah they probably do more than I realise? I know Lucy and Grant do, and now me and Morpheus do, alright, whatever.
Ok well that's it....
