Then again the last time I did that was a year ago when I had a wedding back in England to go to and had to look good, so I got Al to put me through the ropes and that's exactly what he did. Shit man he worked my ass of, but it was great, I loved it, so hopefully I'll re-do that again, but alas my friend is now a busy bee himself, so I guess I'll be doing it myself.
So yeah tomorrow is the continuation of the site I've been working on for Olivia and Valere, plus my pals Nicole and Margaret have some additions for their site, PLUS I have to continue my endeavour's to get more work. Actually myself and Morpheus (give it up, the language is staying) were looking on EBay this morning and they actually have a section where people sell their web site services. Yeah I know, well I'm assuming this is where the very fancy and now very rich woman want to go from here, basically selling services on EBay as well as Elvis memorabilia? So I shall be looking into that.
Right so yeah we got back about an hour ago from a wonderful, fabulous time in Cold Spring with Major Nelson (remember the name changes for 2004, more to come so keep up people) and Snoopy's. Joined by Aphrodite, Hermes and the ever so deliciously yummy baby Michael, who just makes me smile, love that kid.
So we all arrived there last Wednesday, New Year's Eve. Major Nelson had as usual cooked up a storm, which consisted of shepherds's pie with lamb, not beef, which was too yummy, in fact I brought some home with me this evening, so as soon as Morpheus gets back from the gym, we'll be heating that up and scoffing it while watching the new season of Sex and the City. PLEASE let it be better than last season's???
Actually Major Nelson invited over their neighbors, unbeknown to us, so when they arrived we were all a bit perplexed, including Dakota (their dog) who got very excited at new people, she's kinda bored with us these days.
Their names were Donald and Kathleen, a very nice couple, but unfortunately there didn't exactly dress for dinner, so there we all were, ABOUT to go upstairs and dress up for dinner, when they arrived in jeans and fleeces, so we stayed put, well actually myself and Aphrodite went upstairs, giggled like stupid children and then just applied makeup, well actually I left on my black roll-neck, but put different pants on, much to Aphrodite's argument, but I really wanted to be out of my jeans, shit I'd worn them all day!! Morpheus changed his shoes and everyone else stayed the same. Oh no hold on, Hermes put on a different shirt, but that was it, it was funny. Hey it doesn't matter what they wore who cares, but we certainly weren't going to embarrass them by changing.
Donald is an architect, so I was really pleased, when he was put opposite me at the dinner table. Shit that poor man, I asked him question after question, oh please I love architects, should of taken it up myself, but feel that it's way past me now. Anyway I found him fascinating, a really nice guy, very smart, and very knowledgeable. Snoppy laughed at me acting a school girl in front of him. Well that profession more than any other fascinates me.
So they left, to go and pick up their son, then a father and son showed up, who Major Nelson knows, they seemed sweet. Then before you know it, it's midnight and we're all hugging and embracing, it was very sweet and of course baby Michael was wide awake for all of this, which was great.
New Year's day we did nothing, as you can imagine. Aphrodite, Hermes and Michael left to do the rounds of the grandparents, while the rest of us sat around in our pyjamas and watched tv.
In fact the last few days we haven't done much of anything. We ate a La Bouchon on Saturday night, that was a riot and I managed to not smoke one single from New Year's eve up until Sat/Sun morning around 2am, where I just had to have one as it was killing me, so I did, which is crap, but I'm just being honest. I do enjoy one with my glass of wine it must be said, so maybe I can reduce my intake drastically and only smoke them when I REALLY get that feeling at the back of my throat that makes me desire one. You know?
Well you see our drinking is also being reduced, so if I'm not drinking as much then I'm certainly not going to be smoking as much, so there you go, it's all going to work out just fine....
So last night we all went to this shitty little movie theatre in Poughkeepsie to see "Lost in Translation" and guess what? it only costs us $3.50 EACH. I know can you fucking believe it? damn I was shocked, I mean that's just fabulous isn't it? Then again why movie tickets are so expensive is beyond me? it's insane.
So we may just all wait from now on until we're in Cold Spring and go see movies there if there that cheap? But you can't get hot dogs though, nah, just popcorn, drinks and of course gummy bears...yum!
By the way GO SEE "Lost in Translation" it's fantastic. That Ms. Coppola did a fine job, although I'm not quite sure why she kept showing the boom microphone throughout the movie? very bizarre, but I'm sure there's an "in" joke in there somewhere.
So there you go, that was my New Year, very fun with my bestest friends who I love and adore. Although we may not all love and adore each other for long, if we don't get this friggin holiday sorted out. Basically we found a great hotel Barbados which has three 1 bedroom suites all overlooking the beach. So Aphrodite called them up but unfortunately they can't assign us these particular rooms, even though there is probably only another 3 the same, but not all overlooking the beach? SO as you can imagine we're a bit confused. Yes of course it's unusual to pick the rooms, but there's 6 of us who are quite keen to move this booking along, AND we have a visual of the hotels gardens, rooms, pools AND beach, so we know where we want to stay, so why can't they book us those rooms, especially as they're available at that time?
Anyway I'm hoping that either Aphrodite, Major Nelson or even Morpheus can sort it out in the next few days? Oh no not me, I have NO patience with people over the phone, it would be a disaster and then we'd be screwed.
Rightyo, I'm off, Morpheus is back and the shepherd's pie is warming nicely.
