So yeah the birthday celebrations went very well. It was a lovely evening, which began at Agave on 7th and Charles I think? It's a posh Mexican restaurant, really nice, great service, great food, although we left most of ours, well until Kiwi Boy came and woofed it all down, but it really was delicious, I would highly recommend it.
So everyone was out, which included Professor, Snoopy, Aphrodite, but sadly no Hermes who had to babysit Michael as his sister had to cancel the last minute, which was a shame, but I'll see him again. Also my pal Tex Man and Sweat Pant Boy were supposed to come out, but Tex Man's mom was in surgery for most of the day in Texas and therefore Tom felt it was important to stay at home and sit by the phone in case anyone called. Totally fair enough. So after dinner we headed over to HUE on Bleecker and Charles Street where we met up with Al, B and Buddy Weiser. Also the ever so lovely Nicky and David popped by, so it was great, all my chums, everyone happy and in good spirits. Actually the place was pretty empty, but I'm sure that happened due to Kiwi Boy insisting on wearing his very brightly coloured Hawaiian shirt, which was loud man.
Then after that we all ended up in the Spotted Pig, over on 11th and Greenwich. It's the place that used to be Le Zoo and is now the Spotted Pig with about 13 investors involved, included Bono, not that he ever goes there. Actually I think Mario Batali is one of the investors as he seems to be there quite a bit.
So after many drinks and smokes outside, everyone eventually parted. Me? well I seem to remember Buddy Weiser walking me home, which was very nice, my boys always look after to me.
So then yesterday I got up around 11 or so, signed on and read an email from my pal Victor over at Dennehey's, who informs that yes they DO have the rights to show the European Cup and that at 12 that day they would be showing the England v Suiss game, so I should get my arse over there pronto. Hey sounded like a plan to me? So off I toddled, a little bit wobbly to be honest after all the booze from the night before. Victor was indeed there when I arrived, but it was pretty obvious that he wasn't going to be able to sit with me for any length of time as he was working. So with that I kinda like got a bit nervous, well it just seemed weird me, a lone girl in this bar, sat amongst various English boys either living here or over on business but desperate to see their boys win.
Anyway I decided to bite the bullet and just sit at the bar, order myself a beer and get some food as I was bloody starving. Immediately a nice chap called Mike, from Leeds chatted to me, whilst never taking his eyes off the screen....true fan or what? He was very sweet, lived in Phoenix, Arizona and was over on business for a few days, actually his flight was around 5 yesterday, so he'd decided to seek out where the game was being shown and go straight to the airport from the pub.
I also met Brian, a cute floppy Hugh Grantish looking guy who LOVES FOOTBALL and is, yeah an American, impressive or what? Then there was Derek another cool guy from Leeds who I believe lives in the city. Anyway without going into too much boring detail, we had an absolute blast. What along with Liam the hysterical Irish bar man, it was brilliant, loved it, I love meeting new people, and these boys were so nice, such good fun. Then kept apologising every time they swore at the screen, until of course I started shouting out...."aw for fucks sake, get it in the net", this amused them all very much.
So after many many pints, I eventually staggered home, watched that silly "Something's Gotta Give" movie, balled my eyes out and then went to bed.
Well it was soppy, and poor Diane Keaton gets really upset in the movie and it just moved me, hey I'm a big softie. Underneath this harsh exterior lies a big fat marshmallow. Well today it does, god two solid days drinking is not good people. Oh yeah that reminds me, so when I was telling these boys that it had been my birthday the day before they all wanted to know how old I was? Which of course is cheeky but I don't care, anyway they seemed genuinely shocked when I told them and reckoned I didn't look a day over 32.
You know what if it's all bullshit who cares, certainly not me, if they want to bullshit me by saying I look younger than my actual years...well bring it on boys!!
Right then so back to today. I've just had an upsetting call from Darlene, my lovely little angel, who is a little stressed to say the least. Well she's very busy, and then there's a lot of other stuff going on with her right now that is starting to drag her down. Basically she wants me to come in, but she wants me in the other part of the office and not in hers as she needs to concentrate and get some work done, and I think I'm too much of a distraction, so she was very kindly telling me to fuck off for today so that she can get some work done. But we kind of agreed that I would go in a little later, so that she can at least get a few undisturbed hours in this morning, so that when I do go in, she'll be well into her work, then I can quietly get the laptop, and continue with my own work. Hopefully that will work and she won't lose it on me. Love that girl but she's fucking crazy.
So I wanted to thank every one for my lovely gifts, which includes Raya and Davar for my cute and naughty t-shirts, one of them I'm wearing now and think I will continue to wear as it's dead comfy and fits me well. Also to Tracy who got me some lovely, dead posh L'Occitane soaps, LOVE THEM, but I'm going to keep them unwrapped for as long as possible.
Also my girls Aphrodite and Snoopy got me a fantastic Lacoste long sleever black t-shirt which is a tad big, so I need to go exchange it and also some very hip and cool bright orange flip flops, which are dead in right now. Poor Morpheus just hasn't had time to get me anything, I swear that poor boy is so exhausted right now. So not sure what he's getting me, but I know it will be fab, he always gets me great stuff. Apparently Kiwi Boy has gotten me something, it should of come by now he says but we'll see yeah.
I have great friends I really do. I a damn lucky woman
Right I have to go workout and try and get this stomach into some kind of order.
Have a great weekend everyone.
