I have the cleaners coming in this afternoon, so I have to be pretty quick today as I have a ton of work to do before my lovely puerto rican ladies come and throw me out.... They get really edgy with me if I stay while they clean. I don't like to and it's only ever happened twice, but twice was enough I guess.
Ok so the Marijuana Logues were fantastic on Friday night, oh god it was really funny. Although half way through the show I found myself DYING to use the loo and really it's a major faux pas in the theatre to go to the loo, but I'd seen a couple of other people go, so I clambered over Jason and Al and ran like a crazy woman.
Of course while I was away I missed a funny passage of them doing an English thing with regard to Marijuana taking, which Morpheus says was funny. Actually I did watch the show pretty buzzed myself, well it didn't start till 10 and so myself, Benita and Al had sat outside (lovely evening on Friday) Boxers necking back wine, so I was a bit fuzzy by the time we got to the show.
Anyway thanks again Moranis, you did good, the seats were brilliant, like 4 rows from the stage, smack bang in the middle, couldn't of asked for better seats.
So after that we were going to go out bar hopping, but B wanted to pee, and the line at the theatre was very long (clearly GOOD people who waited till the end), so we came back to the apartment and basically never left.
Eventually everyone left and Morpheus went to bed, leaving me to watch My Beautiful Launderette, which I'd never seen before and which got me all very emotional, hence me leaving stupid phone messages with members of my family...yeah, not smart, but oh god what a great film.
Saturday was a great day, so we went and had lunch outside at Topsy Turvy, during which we kept seeing friends walking by, which is always nice, I like that, very neighborly.
Saturday night consisted of renting Gothicka and Intolerable Cruelty, they were ok, actually Gothicka was pretty good!. Then yesterday, thankfully, Buddy Weiser rang us and made us go meet him at the Met to see the new exhibit "Byzantine: Faith and Power," which showcases more than 350 masterpieces of Byzantine art from over 30 nations. This Byzantine lamp was pretty impressive....
, it dates from the 13th century and normally resides in the Monastery of Zeropotamou in Mount Ahtos, Greece. In case you were wondering. Hey it was fun, very educational, very impressive, way too many old fuckers though, who insist on standing right up close to the footnotes of the artwork so that basically no one else can read it until they're finished. They're so rude as well, they just push and shove right in front of you, I swear, these people....
So yeah that was fun, so after a few hours we left, and realised once outside that it wasn't as warm as it had been a few hours earlier, so off we trotted in search for somewhere to sit, rest and re-fuel. This didn't take very long, we found a great place, called Pearson's on 81st and Lexington I believe, which pretty much sold good old Texan food, which is pretty much ribs, ribs and more ribs. Well you can imagine how happy Morpheus and Buddy Weiser were, oh my god they were salivating.
It's funny because when we arrived there was like two other tables with people, by the time we left the place was jam packed solid, clearly a place that the locals like. I'm sure it's a famous restaurant, I haven't heard of it, but it was good.
So that was it, that was our weekend, last night Kiwi Boy came by to watch The Soprano's and that was our weekend done with. Right then I'm off, later people...
