MMmmm so yeah our weekend, yeah it was ok, Friday night we went and met Candy and her brother Barry (same as my dad's name) uptown at a lovely little outdoor restaurant behind the Natural History Museum. Actually it was funny because clearly they had both been there a while as they were on dessert when we arrived, so we promptly sat down and got a waiter that was passing by to bring us some menus, some drinks etc. Candy explained that actually it had been a waitress serving them, but she was nowhere to be seen, so we ordered entrees and drinks. Then by the time we were half was through our meal she appears, with a very pissed off look, because she didn't know we had join her table? But come on, we were in the middle of our meal, which means it had been a good 20 mins from when we sat down to her walking over. So anyway she snipped a bit about not knowing we were there, then walked off again. She tried one more time to take control back of her table, but it was too late by then.
So that was Friday evening, nothing big, just a pleasant evening with friends.
So because we had an early night for a Friday, which is normally unheard of with me and Morpheus, we were up pretty early Sat morning, well I was, I cleaned out my closets and my drawers, much I now know to the annoyance of Morpheus as he was trying to sleep but I was banging around. Well he was on his laptop playing, so that's pretty awake to me? Whatever, so we met up with Nicky and had brunch at Petite Albeille.
So Saturday night we were all out again, with Candy, her brother AND Cami Pork Chop who I haven't seen for ages and miss her badly. Now because it was such a lovely day everyone wanted to sit outdoors, which of course means that the rest of Manhattan does as well, so after calling round a bunch of restaurants, I opted for Valdino's on Hudson and Bank. Well it's a cute little italian restaurant, good service and a nice area outside to "people watch". So I call them up, the guy can't GUARANTEE me outdoor seating, so I make the reservation for 7:30 hoping that it would be early to grab a cool table. After speaking to Candy it was clear that her brother HAD TO HAVE outdoor seating, so I was like sure I think we can pretty much get what we want....mmm, yeah, no.
Well I'll tell Candy that it's probably best if we meet at 7 instead, so that we can secure an outdoor table, so this I did, the guy was fine, pointed to a table with four blondes on it, who actually looked like they were just finishing up, so I said we'd go have a cocktail at Dublin 6, then return for our table...great, excellent, good plan.
We come back, wait, and wait, it's now 7:50 and these women have ordered ANOTHER bottle of wine, smoking away, chatting and laughing, oh my god they're not going anywhere, ever. Of course everyone's pissed off, Candy's recommending going somewhere else, but it's nearly 8 on a Saturday night, there's no way we're going to secure outdoor seating anywhere else, so we wait a while longer, then they tell us that the window table INSIDE is free and that we should probably take that. But that wasn't pleasing anyone.
ANYWAY basically we end up inside, and yes we had a great evening, but I think Barry was totally pissed off with the women outside. Listen, they had a prime spot, they knew everyone in the area as people kept stopping and talking to them, they had booze, they could smoke, I mean why would they move? shit I wound't of done.
Ok so while we were in there they're were these two guys, one of whom was so gorgeous it was hard to look at him, no seriously, he was stunning, we assumed gay, because he was so pretty. So anyway at one point Cami and myself are staring at him, and he catches us, oh god it was so embarrassing. So after we paid the bill I used the bathroom, on my way out I notice that the cutie isn't in his seat, so I go outside to find everyone, except for Cami standing with a big smile on their faces, I'm like, "what? what's going on? and the cute is there, chatting away to Cami, oh shit man.
So we got to Dublin 6, and he follows us, stays with us all evening, until me and Morpheus have a big row and go home, about 1:30 I think? so we left them to it. Not sure what happened after that? must find out from Cami.
So yeah it was a fun evening, oh yeah and also one of the waiters in Valdino's, another cutie has a small part in "One Life to Live", yeah, I saw him in it the other week, so while I was in the restaurant, he walks by and I'm like, you play Shane. Honestly you should of seen his face, it was a picture, and he even said that no one had ever recognised him before and that he was shocked that I did. So there you go, guess I made his night.
Ok so yesterday was kind of rough, hate arguing with Morpheus, but we're ok now. Actually we went to meet my pal Sandy at Dublin 6 for breakfast, that was nice, Jason joined us and an older lady called Sabina that lives in a fab apartment with a two tier roof deck in the Liberty Post building I think it's called, lucky cow. So yeah we sat there for a few hours, drank lots of mimosa's (2 points each, not bad) and came home.
Alas the weather is crap today, so I guess I'll go for my weigh-in soon....aarrrgghhj, then get on with my new clients site, which is actually Jason's at Dublin 6, great logo, but that's all I got right now.
Any ideas for a cool bar site? let me know.
It's May already, wow where is the time going?
