Then I came back, lunched, worked and then the little Russian man turned up with his mother it seemed? to connect my couches together. She only came up because she had to use the loo, which kind of pissed me off, I'm not really into total strangers sitting on my fucking loo? I guess it's no big deal but it aggravated me. Then again these days EVERYTHING aggravates me.
So then yesterday afternoon I had to head off uptown to my doctors, BUT before I got there I was strolling passed Searle on 3rd and 64th Street when I saw the skirt to DIE FOR in the shop window.
It was just like something Sarah Jessica Parker would wear, or flowy, in a beautiful blue shade, with a big huge netting under skirt to go with it. I walked straight in, tried on one in my size and ordered it there and then. Well you see right now the blue one I wanted was a sample and not in my size, so the rest of the shipment is stuck in customs from France, so they reckon they should have it either by tomorrow or definitely by Friday. Like Candy said this morning on the phone..."where are you going to go to wear something like that"?, which if course is true, what sit at Dublin 6 in my fab flouncy skirt? hey you know, I'll just be the owner of it, that's good enough for me.
So that was fun. Ok so the next stop was my doctors, actually I was seeing a Dr. Karim who is a cute young physicians assistant, very cocky, but fun. So I was seeing him because of my aching ankles, well every time I get up in the middle of the night or even in the morning, my ankles ache, I can't walk properly for a few steps, and thought I might be getting arthritis....HEELLOOO!!
So it appears that I have very loose ankles, literally he was turning my ankle, well bending it actually from side to side and couldn't believe how far he could bend it. So things like jogging and most definitely jumping rope are no good for my ankles, it's too much strain on them and must be stopped immediately.
Fuck...you know if I gain 20lbs now by NOT doing as much cardio I'm gonna kill that Karim guy. Actually he gave me the name of an old farty graduate of Harvard that he admires to check my ankles and scan them as he wants to check for arthritis, but in the meantime I'm supposed to take Aleve, shit forgot to get that, wouldn't mind I've just come back from Rite Aid..bugger, bollocks.
So there you go, no more rope jumping for me...boo hoo!! So then my next trip was down the corridor to see Babs my back specialist who yet again maneuvered me into another bizarre position and squished me until he felt my vertebrae click back to where it was supposed to be. He doesn't know why my back aches but he suspects it's because of something I've lifed (that would be the weights then) or I've done sudden movements, something like that.
He's nice Babs, I like him, and the back is definitely getting better, to be honest I think a lot of the pain was more to do with menstrual cramps, but I do still have to go back next Tuesday to double check that's it ok. So yeah two appointments and two bloody payments of $15 co-payment fees...aarrgghhh!!
So I didn't get out of there till like 8pm, so I walk back to Lexington Avenue I think it was and got on the E train, I only realised after 10 mins or so, because I was reading my New York Magazine that the fucking train was in Queens....aaarrggghh, so I had to get off at 65th Street, go across the platform and get the DOWNTOWN train back home. Of course the journey took forever, well once you hit Queens the stations are really far apart, it's so annoying. Anyway I get off at 14th Street because I wanted to take shots of Dublin 6 for the web site, but realise once I'm there that I don't have my memory card in my camera, so I can't take shot, jesus christ can you believe it? brain I'd be dangerous I swear.
So I nipped in, had a quick beer with Sandy and came home.
Morpheus didn't get home till 10:30 or so, we were both shattered, ate real quick, watched tivoed "24" and hit the sack...phew, what a day.
So I've just got back from doing a few chores, now it's work time, so I better get on, and yes tonight I will be remembering to take my camera WITH memory card in to Dublin 6.
Later people....
