You've got to feel bad for the subway workers, you know the MTA are I'm sure very powerful and rather obstinate and from what I hear, quite corrupt as well?
So yeah I was supposed to go up to 47th at La Prima Donna tonight and meet Snoopy and Aphrodite for dinner, but that's not happening now. Well there's no subway, hey they're MIGHT be by 5:30 this evening, but I doubt it somehow and there's no way I'm even attempting to get a cab, when thousands of other people will be doing the same thing. So yeah I guess I'm stuck down here for today, which ain't so bad, in fact it's great, I hate going uptown anyway, in fact beyond 14th Street is a stretch for me.
Also it's particularly cold out there today, so there's a lot of pissed off people. I mean many may have taken this week off, to shop for the holidays, but a lot haven't or can't and it's bad for them.
So my pal Professor is getting myself and Stephen some champagne for Christmas at cost, approximately $17 a bottle and he says it's THE BOMB, so that's good, lovely bit of bubbly Christmas day, you can't beat it. Oh yeah my mum phoned over the weekend, they got their hamper and are very pleased and I was surprised to hear that most of the contents were still intact, well except for the chocolate, that would of be my dad of course, he LOVES HIS CHOCOLATE. Bit like Stephen?
So Mark at work heard about my plight to get stamps at our local post office for abroad to send to my folks and the girls etc. But it was hopeless, I don't HAVE TIME to wait in line for a fucking hour for stamps? are you kidding me? so anyway we were discussing it yesterday and he told me that I should get the smallest global express envelopes (that cards would fit) grab as many, take them to the office this morning and then you can PRINT off the labels, pay by credit card online and put them straight in the mail. Isn't that fabulous? and yes actually I had seen the commercials for that, but it just hasn't computed the last couple of times I've tried to get stamps, so now I'm pleased.
So on that note I'd better get my skates on as my hair is still wet and I have to be at work in 30 minutes. Lucky me huh? only have to walk two blocks.
Still haven't shopped will go tomorrow for sure...
Later people, keep warm...
