So where was I? oh right yeah, so the lady from the building and a whole bunch of other wheel bound people were sat in a circle complaining about the broken elevators and escalators. You go people, tell the city to get their shit together. Not that anything will be done, the city officials will no doubt sit and pretend to listen to their grievances and then put the file away somewhere dark and dusty...
I like the lady who lives here, she zips about in that thing like speedy gonzalez (remember that cartoon?) and always has loads of stickers all over her chair mainly complaining how the city is NOT wheelchair friendly. Good for her, someone has to speak out.
So is anyone else having tv problems, ours keeps sticking, so whoever is on the screen, has this robotic style about them, it's really frustrating. Got to be something to do with the digital connection? fucking things driving me nuts.
So our weekend was pretty quiet, we had a quiet Friday evening, then Saturday Stephen worked and then we both walked over to the East Side to get curry paste as we had decided last minute to do chicken curry and invite Coco and Sean over.
Well we were supposed to go to our friend's Tex Man and Sweat Pant's Boys party in their new house up in Pennsylvania, but I was tired this weekend and didn't feel very comfortable at all, so the thought of travelling anywhere didn't really thrill me, so we decided to just stick close to home and have a nice quiet weekend. So Stephen took me to this cool Indian grocery store over on 1st Avenue, which was great, had that very powerful curry smell to it as you walked in, which nearly knocked me out. I'm super sensitive to smells these days and I'm sure I can smell things from further afield that others can't, especially, unfortunately, DOG SHIT, which I seem to smell all the time.
Then we popped into Crem Bebe which is Marco and Barbara's place, (see right) a lovely store for children's clothes but at the most expensive prices I've ever seen. Fucking $38 for a onesie, for a NEWBORN, so it was basically the size of a man's big hand, OK? I mean are you fucking kidding me with that price? Anyway it was nice to see Marco and Barbara, but we got out of there pretty fucking quick. Listen there getting free advertising on this site, so they should be pleased by that, I am NOT going to start clothing my son with their stuff unless they bring the prices down. Even though to be honest some of their clothing is just truly FABULOUS.
So Saturday evening was great, we met Sean, Coco and Miss D outside Dublin 6, had a few bevvies then came back home. Now after Miss D had had some tit, Coco wanted to try out (after laughing of course) our new bright, white Bassinet, so in the kid went. And what a hit, she loved it, and because babies move there legs a lot, it rocks with every move they make, so she was really happy. This thing also plays mozart, but a really cool feature is the fact that you can record your own message, so Sean recorded....."babies like to sleep...sshhhh sshhh", it was funny.
So basically while the four of us ate, Miss D just lay there happily listening to our voices and rocking away, a great success. Also she loves me this kid, yeah she smiles every time she hears my voice, probably thinking what the hell kind of accent is that? She's a cutie, love her to pieces.
So then yesterday myself and Stephen worked, well we had a lovely breakfast, then Stephen got to it, finally finishing his last painting which is fab, love it, busy, lots to take in, great piece, that will sell super quick. But he needs to keep cracking on, the show is now September 16th so he reckons he can get one more done, but I think he could either get two smaller ones or one large one, but clearly I will keep my mouth shut about that, don't like to advise Stephen on his work, it's best not to, I get that look you know what I mean?
And I worked on my friend's Richard Pitts (www.richardpitts.com) website, well he wants another page doing with his new stuff uploading, so I cracked on with that yesterday.
Then after lunch, I went upstairs to see Sabina and Dwane which was lovely, we chilled in the sun for a bit and talked about the Baby Shower which I must say I'm very excited about, well it's now turning into a full on party. There's like 34 people coming now, which is wild and very funny as half of them are men, so regardless of them at f first not being interested in attending, they've certainly changed there tune, guess they found out we are serving booze and enjoying the sun of D&S's roof deck...
So up to now 22 people in the city have died due to the hot weather, from heat stroke. Wow in this day and age people dying of heat stroke...NOT GOOD. Oh crap did you hear about the woman from Boston? well she was in Fenway Park (baseball), got overheated, passed out, they took her to hospital, she was 7 months pregnant...SHE DIED, they pulled the baby out and he survived. She FUCKING DIED, can you believe that? I was in shock, that's just awful, this bloody weather, OH MY GOD.
Well I've been pretty good, drinking lots of water, walking short distances, keeping cool, or at least trying. Right then got to go to work, later people.
