Ok well I need to vent about our so called fantastic clinic that I go to for myself and for Reef. Well on Friday it was time for her to have 4 jabs, YES 4.......so off we went, I made Stephen take the afternoon off as I didn't want to deal with a very upset baby by myself. Now because the clinic we go to provides care for people on Medicaid which is basically welfare, you can imagine how busy and crazy this place is. That I understand, while I was pregnant it usually took 2 hours for me to be seen and signed off, so I expected a bit of a wait, I DID NOT EXPECT TO BE AT THE FUCKING PLACE FROM 1:30 thru 4:45.......N OT GOOD AT ALL.
We got there, she was weighed (11 lbs 6 oz.....SHE'S A TANK) and now 23 inches long, my lovely growing girl. Then we go back out to the waiting room and WAIT. Now I knew that it would be a bit of a wait, but they were just taking the piss. Stephen started to lose it after an hour, then FINALLY someone came out and called our names, BUT that was just to get us out of the waiting room and into another room to keep us quiet and keep us waiting another 20 minutes. Finally Stephen went out and found a room with all the doctors in.....
So he's like..."yeah are we going to be seen soon or what"...something like that. To which one of the doctors grabbed his clipboard, slipped around the back of Stephen and came rushing into the room to see Reef. OH MY GOD STEPHEN WAS FUMING.
AND THEN this idiot asks me..."so what is your child in for"? You know it really pisses me off when they haven't got that kind of information in Reef's records, I mean what the fuck are patient records for if you don't RECORD what is happening with the patient....FRIGGIN MORONS. So of course I got massively sarcastic, well I'm good at that, and told him that she was in for jabs and that I was nervous and could very easily take it out on the doctor....etc etc.
Anyway it all went well from then onwards, he checked her out, she laughed and giggled at this doctor which was sooo cute. Then the attendee doctor came by, to say hello and tell us how cute she was blah blah blah. I made a point though of asking her to sign off her records pronto so that we WOULDN'T be waiting even longer after the exam to then leave to go home, which they do which really pisses me off.
ANYWAY then it was jab time, so Reef was sat on Stepen's knee, I was stood near the door but in plain view of my daughter. The poor little mite was sat looking at the doctor with a lovely smile on her face as if to say..."ok so what now"? and then it happened the f irst needle in the thigh, OH MY GOD t he look of poor hurt, confusion and total shock on Reef's was enough to weaken the cruelest heart, oh god I thought I was going to pass out, I felt TERRIBLE. Then of course the needle's kept coming, so by the time she had the last jab the look on her face was of complete torture, and she had that silent scream on her face, you know when your sooo upset that nothing comes out.....? Yeah that one.
Oh god it was just awful, I hated myself, Stephen and especially the doctor for putting her through that....
Anyway as far as i'm concerned we're going to find another pediatrician, and no not because of her jabs, she HAD to have that done, no it was the fucking cavalier attitude that they have and making us wait for hours is just ridiculous, she's 8 weeks for christ sake, do they honestly think (even though she was) that any little person is going to be quiet and good for that long? It's ridiculous, especially after getting caught just hanging out in their doctors room, hanging tinsel etc, cheeky fuckers.
So I'm going to make some enquiries and get another doctor that's under our health plan, but in the meantime I'm going to find out the head pediatrician's name over at the clinic and write a little letter.
So the poor thing obviously calmed down but she's been a bit cranky all weekend, I swear sometimes she looks at me with that HATRED look knowing what I made her go through.....aarrgghh.
So Stephen is at home right now working on his next piece, jeez he only finished his last piece yesterday, so he's really working hard right now for the Art Expo in March, well he needs to, there's a lot to do before that show. And tonight he's off to Parson's College to critique some students, as a favour to our friend Caroline. So that should be fun for him, for me and Reef, well we'll probably just hang out, I think I'll get some sushi...yum.
So I have yet to watch the Survivor finale taped from last night, I'll probably watch it later while Stephen is out, not that I care much these days, it's not as good as it used to be. Then again I do enjoy it w hen the Judges have their say to each of the two finale contestants, that's always fun.
Oh yeah I've also cracked the Baby Bjorn which is a HUGE RELIEF as now I can strap her in that and go for nice brisk walks without denting everybody's ankles which I've been prone to do lately as there is way too many Christmas shoppers around the streets right now getting in my way, so I just attack everybody's legs...hee hee. Yeah so apart from the fact that Reef is pretty heavy in the Bjorn carrier thing, it does make getting around a lot easier, so I'm off for a walk in a wee while, go get some wrapping paper and see if I can get another of Stephen's gifts.
Right then later people.
